External review of Chorley A&E

Chorley A&E has been operating as an 8am-8pm urgent care centre since  April. The trust remains committed to re-opening the service and has been working with  the CCG and other partners to bring this about.

NHS Improvement and NHS England, in conjunction with stakeholders, have agreed to commission and co-ordinate an external review of the temporary closure. This will be led by independent senior A&E consultants and will start next week (w/c 22 August).

*Our regular stakeholder updates will be on hold until we have the findings of the review, which will be made public.
