Workforce for the Future
The Workforce for the Future project was set up to address the gaps that exist in the clinical workforce within the central Lancashire area, with the aim of making local health services sustainable for the future.
The project is a partnership between NHS Chorley and South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group, and the two main healthcare providers within central Lancashire: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. Support and leadership is also provided by Health Education North West.
The first phase of the project was established to undertake research into gaps in the clinical workforce to help provide an evidence base to inform an implementation plan and recommendations for the future. This was carried out using both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
The research element of the project is now complete, and you can view the findings of the research by downloading the Workforce for the Future research report (PDF file, 4MB). Read the CCG's strategy on workforce for the future Workforce strategy (PDF file, 3MB).
